Knotted Fabric Organic Treated Wood Teething Rings

I saw these on Etsy not too long ago and just fell in love with the idea, and decided to make some of my own.

Pregnancy brings out my inner "Craftinista" (heck yeah I just made up that word, believe it) and let me just say that my brain has been OVERFLOWING with crafty ideas lately. I'm talking pages and pages of sketches and doodles that to any other person would probably look incomprehensible.  Baby stuff specifically, which should come as no surprise since I'm all preggers and whatnot.

NESTING MODE COMMENCING!!

As you have probably noticed I just got back in the game of blogging a little here an there after a significant hiatus, so let me get to sharing what the blog has been missing out on and that is just about EVERYTHING I have been doing, including making these teething rings.

At the time of this post these are all available in my Etsy shop, along with more information about each, So go and check them out!

I have a lot more ideas in the works for our baby and for my etsy shop, so stay tuned for that!  Do you have any suggestions for me when embarking on this?  What do you wish you had? What do you love most?  What items for baby are the most meaningful when handmade?

Leave me a comment and let me know!  Help me keep my creative juices flowing!

Open Call for Testers for My Newest Creation

What Time is it?!

ADVENTURE TIME!

If you creep my instagram then you may know that I started and also finished (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!) a new crochet project this past week, despite having been swamped with schoolwork from my least favorite class I have taken these last almost two years, but that's for another post altogether, ugh...

Watching The Big Bang Theory really got me in the Geeky Mood to make Finn

Anywho, I don't know if you remember from my Halloween costume post last year, but we are big dorky fans of Adventure Time here at our house, and we thusly dressed the kids as Finn and Jake.

"Adventure in Ooo"  Adventure Time Halloween Costumes for Kids

Well I decided after considering it for quite some time that I was going to dive in and make my own Finn the Human.  Adventure Size.

Finn is taller thn Grace! and she's a tall 3 year-old!

This was SO. MUCH. FUN! I had such a blast designing this and writing the pattern and even though I will probably change just a couple things I am so proud of the job I did on this!  (Yes, I am indeed tooting my own horn)
The kids had so much fun playing with Finn.
Tristan started drassing him up in costumes and
Grace was wrestling him.
We took Finn to visit "Bandad" and they chilled out in the recliner together

Now the question I have for you is, who would be interested in this pattern for an oversized super awesome Finn? I'm considering having a couple people test the pattern and then maybe putting it on Ravelry, what do y'all think?

Who would like to be a tester?

Meeting Bloggers in REAL Life

I follow a good deal of blogs, as most bloggers do, and I will not hesitate to say I do not read every single post from every single blog I follow.  Sorry.  It's just not possible.  Between Wifing, Momming, and Studenting (lol, how much do you love my new verbs?) I have just a tad bit of time to sit and read blogs before I have to get back to business of one form or another.  That being said, a blog has to be especially  fantastic for me to subscribe via email.  To me, email subscription to a blog is like the most fangirl thing to do when you really love reading someone's content on the regs.  I say ALL of that to say this:

There is one blog, that no matter what, I always have and always will read every single post from, and that blog is Interiors by Kenz.

I absolutely love this girl!  her writing style is so fun and light it really makes you feel like you are just having coffee with her, not reading through paragraphs on a monitor.  She is so creative and really versatile and extraordinarily skilled at what she does.  Not only is she an awesome writer and DIY-er, but she also is so extremely well-rounded and there is more than meets the eye with this girl!  She plays violin in a symphony, and she's a pilot!  Like, whowhat?!  When I read her about me page I was blown away, I thought, no, there is no way in heck that she is actually a real person!

As you may have read in a previous post, at the beginning of this month I got to meet my blogger idol, Mekenzie from said blog.  She is just as delightful in real life as she is on the interwebs.  Which brings me to my next point and back around to the title of this post.

Meeting bloggers in REAL life makes you feel a little bit like a stalker.

It's weird.

We had an awesome breakfast at the Flying Biscuit Cafe in Atlanta, over which we talked about all the things that had been going on for her at the Haven Conference that weekend and my much less exciting adventure of getting through the toll road with only $.43 thanks to an extra  nice cashier, and also about the vast differences in our climates (She lives in Utah).  But I found myself asking questions based on all the millions of little factoids I knew about her from reading her blog for months and months, and like I said, it makes ya feel a little bit stalkery.  I talked myself out of this weird little feeling and really enjoyed being able to connect on a personal level with someone I have admired from across the country for such a long time!

Have you met a fellow blogger and felt this same sensation?
please tell me I am not alone in this!

Awesome New {Albeit Unseasonable} Shop Items!

So, you saw the Maggie scarf the other day
Now it's time to reveal the rest of the goods I've been working on for a while!

I love all of these scarves but, Lord knows I don't need one right now, nor do I need seven!
Do you know how hot it gets down here in Southern GA?  Jeepers!
So, anywho, I have put them in my Etsy shop for you to partake if you should desire!
Yay!
(click the SHOP tab at the top of the page to check it out!)

So, first up we have...
This charming little foxy loxy

I Turned My Dog into a Scarf...

For those of you who follow me on Instagram you have seen your fair share of animal scarf pics (mostly foxes, because I have made several now)

A couple of weeks ago a fellow Irish Wolfhound owner started following me on IG and suggested I make an Irish Wolfhound scarf too!
What a Brilliant Idea right?!
So I went out and got some awesome yarn and got busy and this is how it turned out:

My son took these pictures and snapped this one while I was repositioning...  I look too ridiculous in this pic not to share it.  lol.

G2D2 -- DOES NOT COMPUTE! Kids Robot Costume

During the School year Tristan (my eight year-old) goes to Choir after school every Wednesday at the local Methodist church
I love it.  He learns awesome stuff and he gets to sing and dance and be creative.

Well every year at the end of each semester of school they have a big performance
And this spring was the first time Tristan ever had more that 1 line and we were so excited

Super Colorful Rainbow WIP

I got this super awesome PDF ebook from "All Free Crochet" the other day, and it was all patterns for baby blankets/afghans.
You can download it free here
They are all pretty awesome, but the one that caught my eye most was this one below.  It's so cool and I thought it would be really fun looking with a gradient effect.
I was NOT wrong.

Well, After almost a year I have finally made the pillow from the pattern.

DIY Cushion Lid Soda Crate Magazine Holder

For Christmas this last year my mom gave me my gifts in this really rad old 7up soda crate
I knew with that much character I couldn't just let it go to waste holding some junk in the shed

So, after much Googling, Pinteresting and deliberation I decided on an awesome use for it!

We have had this hideously ugly magazine holder in our bathroom for years
I got it for free like so many other things we have in our house that I absolutely hate now.
And I have been in super purging mode lately.
So I needed a replacement before I could ditch it.

Triple Heart Tuesday Link Party #5

It has been a crazy {and not in the good fun way} week here at my house
hence the SERIOUS lack of motivation on my part to blog anything at all.

I got the flu this week.... yuck...
and then right after I got over it, my husband got it.
of course!
So I spent all my week feeling bad, and then taking care of the hubby feeling bad
and all the while trying to keep the kids healthy.
It's a miracle they haven't turned orange from all the vitamin C I've been pumping into them!

On top of all of the sickness I am rapidly approaching my spring break
so I have been knee deep in text books and study guides.

I have {as usual} WAY too much planned for my teeny tiny measly week off
not the least of which is to spring clean, clear out the ENTIRE house of things we want to get rid of
organize and then host a yard sale.
sheesh.

It's gonna be a busy busy week
But enough of all that!

It's PARTY TIME!!
*******
This week's features are:

Then Forgetful Momma tried to kill my diet with this amazing recipe for Sticky Finger Squares
Yummmmmmm

For those of you who either are or deeply love the Irish

As usual y'all linked up some awesomeness
Let's do it again this week!

Brava, Ladies!!
I asked you to make this the best week ever for Link ups and y'all did not disappoint

I am so psyched about our features this week
We had some really awesome links

*******

First up is my friend Bre from Peacoats and Plaid
She is so uber funny and just started Vlogging not to long ago on top of her blogging.
This week she linked up a new vlog with random facts about her
Check out her blog and her vlogs, they are all so stinkin' funny and she is super creative.

Next up is some serious Yumminess from Persnickety Plates (Don't you just love that name!?)
These Oreo Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies almost look too good!
And they definitely will not fit in my new diet,
 But a girl can dream!

Last up today for our features we have some colorful awesomeness from Crochet Attic
She makes some really awesome stuff.
I love these colors together!  what an unlikely grouping of hues
I love them!

Thank you to ALL of you who linked up this week

Triple Heart Tuesdays Link Up #3

Well, Last week was a little slow,
But that's alright!  we're still just starting out & working through the kinks
I have faith in y'all this week though!

Can we make this the biggest week so far??
I surely think so!

*******
So here we are, Let's look at this week's features:

Let's start with another Amazing and Incredible creation from Coupons and Cooking
Just the idea of these drives my taste buds wild, I mean like, Holy Cow!

Next up is what I find to be a simply adorable idea from Irish Italian Blessings
This Irish themed Baby Shower is just too cute for words!
everything from the decor to the snacks just screams Irish Pride

Now, Last and certainly not least is this mouth watering treat from A Sweet Baker
This is such a clever idea in my opinion.  I've had orange and cranberry scones before, but never cranberry and grapefruit!  These scones are putting grapefruit on the map for me!

*******
What great links we had this week!  Now let's make this week even better!
GO!!

DIY Pacifier {Binkie} Tethers

The way that companies can jack up the prices of things never ceases to amaze me.  Especially when it comes to "Buzz" items and genres.

One of those Buzz areas is baby gear.

When my daughter was a baby, I needed to get a tether for her pacifier because I got tired of constantly having to wash them over and over and over....
So, I paid like $12 at Walmart for a pacifier holder so we wouldn't be losing them all the time.

I got to thinkin' about it and I ended up kinda kicking myself,
{which is more difficult than it sounds}
because I realized this would be super easy to do myself!

Custom Keyboard Puppy "Cooper"

I got a really great response from my Custom Keyboard Kitty "Ivy"

So when I got another message on Etsy to make a custom keyboard creature
 I was none too surprised.

I was however a little surprised by the subject matter
I had never done keyboard Puppies, because for the most part cats are all the same
and there are so many different variations for dogs.

Handmade Granny Square Blankets for My Babes

Some of you frequent readers
(are there any of those??)
may remember me saying I was going to make Granny Square blankets for my kids for Christmas

Well, I got them done
(and NOT at the last minute, believe it or not!)

They both came together quite nicely and I am so proud of my work!
So I wanted to share!

*******

I love these colors all together.
I decided on them based on her bedding color scheme as seen here:

Custom Keyboard Kitty "Ivy"

Recently I received a message in my Etsy shop from a really sweet lady asking if I would consider doing a custom Lackadaisicat (Keyboard Kitty).

{{Honestly, I felt like a dope that I hadn't thought of it before she asked!}}

Handmade Scrap Buster Advent Calendar

Last year I had a lot more time on my hands than I do now
And I got ambitious and decided I should make my own Advent Calendar!
I am all about traditions, and my husband and I are always looking to start new ones

I had received LOADS of my Grandmother's old fabrics including a whole tub of Christmas fabrics!
And I was chomping at the bit to use them!

I am so proud of this project
It was a pretty quick one too!

Inspirations of a Fellow Artist: A Guest Post by Lisa @ Lost Garden Designs

Hi everyone!

It is my very great pleasure to introduce to you my very sweet friend Lisa!
She is the person who first inspired me to express myself through blogging, and it has been so fulfilling for me and i surely hope for her for us to kindle this sweet friendship!

Lisa and I went to high school together and got reacquainted through facebook (as so many do!) and it wasn't long before we couldn't go a day without emailing back and forth and bouncing ideas off one another.

She is so very talented and also inspired me to pick up crocheting.
She is amazing with a hook and I asked if she would be willing to do a guest post to show off some of her amazing creations, and she happily obliged,
So, without further ado, here is Lisa!

Adventures in Ooo

I know most of you
{if you're anything like me}
are totally done with Halloween even though it just happened.
So, bear with me, I'll keep it short!

I made the costumes for my kids this year.
The prices on the ones we wanted were jacked WAY up for some reason by the time we got around to shopping for them, so i made the decision to make them myself!
This was a pretty big undertaking considering i am also balancing schoolwork and this blog and  trying to maintain the house.
I think they turned out great!
