My New Choo Choo {Bag}

I made an absolutely KILLER thrift score Saturday at my local thrift shop!

Some of you may know from a previous post that I carry around my DSLR in an old "choo choo bag"

Now, Last and certainly not least is this mouth watering treat from A Sweet Baker

This is such a clever idea in my opinion.  I've had orange and cranberry scones before, but never cranberry and grapefruit!  These scones are putting grapefruit on the map for me!

DIY Pacifier {Binkie} Tethers

The way that companies can jack up the prices of things never ceases to amaze me.  Especially when it comes to "Buzz" items and genres.  

One of those Buzz areas is baby gear.

When my daughter was a baby, I needed to get a tether for her pacifier because I got tired of constantly having to wash them over and over and over....  

So, I paid like $12 at Walmart for a pacifier holder so we wouldn't be losing them all the time. 

I got to thinkin' about it and I ended up kinda kicking myself, 

{which is more difficult than it sounds} 

because I realized this would be super easy to do myself! 

Upcycled Thrift Store Desk

Tristan, our 8 year old, has been needing a desk for a good while

So, I have been keeping my eyes peeled (what a gross figure of speech, btw!)

for a cool one in the thriftosphere.

 (yep, just coined that... you're welcome)

Awesome Coca-Cola Pitcher

Ok, So, When my husband and I first got married I wanted a pink kitchen.

I was so excited at the idea of having my own kitchen

..... now, about 6 years later, I am so over the pink.

I still like pink... I'm just kinda... over it.

So little by little i'm trying to ditch some of the old pink stuff and get more of a grown up look working in my kitchen.

Crib Bedding Score

I found this AWESOME crib bedding set at our Local thrift store, 

It's made by MiGi which is a partner with  Bananafish

They have the freaking cutest baby bedding

And it can be crazy pricey too!  

So, when I saw this COMPLETE bedding set at our thrift store for only $30

I had to get it.

(and no, I'm not expecting; but if i was I would probably keep it!)

There's a quilt, a knitted blanket, a bed skirt, a bumper, a diaper stacker, 2 fitted sheets, a changing table cover, and a mobile that winds up, spins and plays music!

Stocking Up

There are few things I love more than stocking up on clothes for my kids 

before they need them!

When I was pregnant with Grace I hit the thrift stores like a fiend 

picking up anything and everything insanely adorable that I could find

I am just now running out of clothes for her! 

(she's about to turn 3 but wears 4T most of the time)

So I'm thrifting hard again lately

Here are some recent finds that came no where close to breaking my bank: 

Suitcase Love

When I was growing up we had super old suitcases all over my house.

For decoration, storage, for anything really. 

Old suitcases hold a special place in my heart for sure.

And up until the other day I had no idea just how many i had!  

I even have a very old saxophone case with real velvet inside, that i just adore.  

I'll have to do a whole other post for that one..... 

I also have my little "choo choo bag" where I keep my Camera.

Ok ok.... I'm obsessed...

Vintage Chalk Message Board

I bought this old message board at a local thrift store for a bank-breaking $0.50!

It was pretty cool anyway, but definitely needed a little help.

The chalk board portion was really suffering and the cork part was even worse.

So i taped off around the chalkboard portion and spray painted it with Chalkboard

There is a lovely lady named Rosie who bought a quilt from me a few years ago and loved all my craft stuff that i make so she asked if she could sell some of my items in a booth she had in a very nice upscale shop in town here.  

I of course was completely flattered!  

like whoa!  

Anywho, she would always keep an eye out for cool things for me at shows and stuff and found me these awesome trays to make magnet boards out of...

Well it turns out these were NOT magnetic so we had to think of a new plan

It's T-Shirt Time!

I love T-Shirts.

I mean, that's just all there is to it.

I made my husband a t-shirt quilt for Christmas a couple years ago 

And thought that I would start collecting more shirts to make other quilts with.

It started small...

But of course, it turned into a huge operation.

My local Thrift store is awesome.  

Everything is dirt cheap

For instance, t-shirts are $0.25!

Prices that low make it easy to increase my stash!

Last week I went to the "Good Samaritan Thrift Store" in town and picked up 29 new t-shirts!

Elementary, my dear Estate Sale...

There are these two ladies that live in my county who are sisters and they are well-renowned in the area because they do Estate Sales

Most of the houses are very old and have tons of antiques and amazing goodies. 

The prices though are typically VERY high 

But on the plus side they almost always have a "Clearance Day"  where they mark everything down 25% or more!

So 2 weeks ago I went to one of their sales here in town on clearance day and scored!
