I am a complete and total sucker for all things Avocado
I love the color the smell the texture the flavor
the whole bit
This dip envelopes all of those things and adds it with the cool refreshing flavor of ranch
This dip is awesome with chips or veggies
we also use it for quesadillas, sandwiches and burgers.
Due to the versatility and deliciousity (is that a word?) this is the Perfect Avocado Ranch Dip
It tastes Fancy but is so easy to make!
1- 16 oz. container sour cream
1 ripe avocado
1 package ranch dip mix
1/2 Tbsp lime juice
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1. Cut avocado in half and carefully remove the seed. cross-hatch slices as thick or thin as desired (I prefer very thin) being careful not to cut THROUGH the outer skin, and proceed to scoop out that delicious yummy green stuff into a mixing bowl.
2. Add your garlic salt and lime juice and stir/smash up your avocado a bit to your desired consistency. I like it about half smashed then you get the cool green color in the dip but still have nice chunks.
3. Fold in sour cream and completely mix together. Add ranch dip packet and again, stir until completely combined.
4. You can serve immediately, but it's better if you stick it in the fridge and let the flavors mesh for a few hours. Serve with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
or on basically anything you want. If you're anything like me you'll find an excuse to put it on EVERYTHING!
the best way to do this is to slip the paring knife into the avocado and go all the way through til you feel the seed and go the whole way around, then it's easy to just twist the two halves apart
slice in one direction, then the other
slide the spoon in as close to the skin as you can and just scoop it all out
it doesn't take much
I usually love tons of garlic salt on things, but for this recipe you only need a little bit
get to smashing!
this is the consistency I like
You can also you plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream if you prefer
make sure you mix this thoroughly!
You definitely won't regret it!
