Waheezy fo Sheezy - A Tradition

For those of you who don't know, Waffle House is a southern staple.
period.
They started in Avondale, GA
(which is only about 2 hours away from where I live)
It's probably one of my top 3 favorite restaurants of all time.

My husband and I actually had our first (and also BLIND) date
at a Waffle House
when I was in high school.

My husband always jokes about how he knew I was the one because of what a cheap date I am.
All he has to do is pull up into the
Waffle House (or wah-heezy) parking lot and I melt like butter on a waffle!

Anyway, After a long day of errand running My man took me and the kids to our favorite place for dinner!

I ordered the old faithful
Hashbrowns, scattered smothered covered
(the ONLY way to eat hashbrowns)
{and don't let anyway tell you otherwise}

And they have a new waffle
It's the cinnamon iced praline waffle
It tasted like a cinnamon roll
It was TO DIE FOR!

Tristan and Grace got waffles and bacon, yummmmm
Here they are enjoying their orange juice while they wait

My babies will grow up loving this place, just like I did...
In fact when Tristan was about Gracie's age he could eat an entire waffle, 2 eggs scrambled with cheese and an order of hashbrowns....
I would have to order my food twice because he would eat it all the first time.

Just about everything on this menu is delicious...
The Waffle House even has it's own Museum!

And the best thing about Waffle House is the shear astronomical number of them
(over 1500 stores in mostly the southern U.S.)
and the fact that they are open 24 hours a day!

Since 1955, They Have Served:

• 877,388,027 Waffles• 1,289,801,887 Cups of Coffee
• 1,800,286,157 Hashbrown Orders
• 661,031,274 Sausage Patties

• 134,842,441 T-Bone Steaks
• 201,228,697 Hamburger Quarters
• 729,065,401 Glasses of Coca-Cola®
• 1,359,881,590 Orders of Grits
• 164,980,986 Orders of Cheese N'Eggs
• 264,925,814 Omelets

PER MINUTE they serve:

 • 341 Strips of Bacon• 33 Hamburgers
• 238 Orders of Hashbrowns• 16 Texas Cheesesteaks
• 145 Waffles• 11 Pork Chops
• 127 Cups of Coffee• 6 Chopped Steaks
• 96 Orders of Grits• 15 Chicken Breasts
• 110 Sausage Patties• 4 T-Bone Steaks
• 6 Strip Steaks

Oh yeah, I almost forgot!
The awesome and extraordinarily odd assortment of music on the Jukebox!

Feel free to share a fond Waffle House memory of your own below!

Oh my goodness...I am drooling over here :)

I feel like I need to plan a vacation to the South because I have NEVER been to the Waffle House. Are you going to stop following me now??? I promise, when I do make it to the South, I'll definitely stop and eat there.

I am happily following you back.

yeah, remember how miffed we all were when you couldn't smoke inside anymore?! Now I'm glad since I don't smoke anymore, but back then, man was I upset! ;)

If you do make it down here sometime, you HAVE to go there, it's a southern right of passage!! I don't know where you live but they have them in NC, if that helps!

<3 Thanks for the follow! I look forward to getting to know each other better! :)

My husband and I went to Waffle House after senior prom (which was actually only our second date). Fond memories. :-)

My mom used to take us to school late every once in a while so she could take us for breakfast at Waffle House. Those are some of my best childhood memories of my mom.

aw that's sweet how you had your first date at a waffle house. Me & my husband first met at a Huddle House, which is basically like a waffle house! LOL Waffles, changing the world introducing one couple at a time!

My husband and I had many late night breakfasts at Waffle House since there was one just a few steps away from the first apartment complex where I lived. :-)

I'd kill to have a Waffle House that close! I have to drive like 45 minutes to get to one!! :( which is a far cry from where i grew up, you could drive 5 miles in any direction and you would hit a wa-ho!

Oh, I am so jealous. I grew up in Iowa (no Waffle Houses there, so sad) and whenever we went on vacation to the south, my Dad would insist on taking us to Waffle House. I LOVE Waffle House, the pecan waffle is my favorite :) My husband, though, grew up in Missouri and is not convinced that Waffle House is worth my squealing whenever I see a sign. Maybe he'll come around soon...

How funny! They just opened a new Waffle House about 5 minutes away from my house. Love them! Thanks for sharing this at my Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see you again on Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
