Wet Sunset

If there's one thing I love
(besides the obvious of course: my husband my children and pizza)
It's a good rainy day.

I never really liked the rain until we lived in Jacksonville, NC for a few years
It rained super often since we were so close to the coast and
It got to where i really looked forward to just cozying up inside and listening to the rain...

Another favorite thing of mine about rainy days is when it just pours all day long and starts to clear up just in time for the sunset

Everything just sort of glows with that very nearly creepy look

just seconds before this shot the sun was so bright gold and piercing through those planted pines but of course, it was over by the time I got my camera out... bummer

It had been storming since the sun came up on this day when I took these pics.

And let me say, I love having a metal roof on rainy days.
it's so therapeutic to here the drops falling overhead
I noticed that eerie glow coming in through the window and took a peak outside

These photos do NOT do any justice to God's work of art!

What a glorious and unexpected beauty to end such a cozy stormy day

There was such a happy medium between dark and gray and just unreal colors

Like seriously?!  This is gorgeous!

Soft blues and rich oranges

Believe it or not this photo is not shopped other than a VERY slight saturation.
The colors of the clouds were crashing into each other in the sky just like this!  I could hardly believe my eyes!

The sky was changing so quickly, I was only outside for about 5 minutes and it changed so drastically it was like a whole new sky every snap of the shutter

The contrast was starting to die down at this point and the color were a little less vivid

There's that blue sky shining through

Getting a little more gray (it's actually more of a mauve now that i look at it) in these...

My loverly power pole (lol)

Or, if you're reading this Dad, my "telephone pole", hahahahahah
(inside joke folks, sorry)

Getting dark now.

Oh yeah, I had to stand on the bench where I keep some of Them Bones in order to keep from getting my roof in the photos

Dang, I really need to paint my toes again.... but I'm just soooo lazy about that stuff...

About the end of the "show"

What's your favorite thing about rainy days?  Also feel free to share some of your own beautiful sunset pics with me!

Absolutely gorgeous! And you're right, even though we can get these beautiful photos, they're just not quite as magnificent as when we see it with our own eyes. Enjoyed these photos! And Thanks for stopping in at Cranberry Morning. :-)
