Furniture Revamp Challenge -- Part 4 (Complete)

The time has come for (((drumrollplease))) the
FINAL REVEAL!

I had so much fun fixing up this furniture!  I can't even tell you how rewarding this was!  free furniture, plus a crafty project!  what could be better than that?!

The Dresser

Here is the dresser I told you before would be a surprise... so.... surprise!  I painted each drawer a different color, and I made the whole rest of the piece silver like the side tables.

The way I see it is that even if i get tired of this color scheme I can always repaint the drawer fronts to match whatever I would change it to!

Before & After:

Here's a little closer look

here's a photo from my phone, so obviously it totally sucks, but I waned to show off my awesome red suitcase and black mirror (both are thrift store purchases, ah-thank you!), and of course our unsightly tv...

The Headboard

Let me just say that I freakin' love this headboard.  This was the thing I was most excited about.  It was actually the only piece of this bedroom suit I actually set out to get, so considering the extra planning time I had, this was the piece I had the hardest time deciding what to do with.

I was so pleased with what I finally landed on.

I painted the main beams the darker coral color and then I painted all the rest the lighter coral color

I painted the little finials silver before I did the rest of the painting.  I love the way this looks!
I got out some drafting paper and sketched around the inner relief area and got an old cut up white chenille bedspread and used my "pattern" over it.  Then I just attached it to the inner area with some glue, and I just love the end product!
(I'm a total sucker for vintage chenille...)

The Lamps

These lamps were a treat to say the least!  These were the first thing I knew for sure what I was going to do with.
After a good dusting/wipe-down I taped these off and spray painted them that pretty blue color.

The left one is mine and the right is for my husband's side of the bed.  I shot these from different angles so it's a little awkward to compare them here (I'm sorry ok! jeeezz!)

I got this cool little typography thingy at Walmart, I thought it was so sweet so I couldn't pass it up.  I painted the little holder for it the darker coral color.
Also, how awesome is this super old Ball jar???
Super Awesome, you say?
That is correct.  I got it for $2 at a yard sale.
BAM.

This necklace is my new favorite treasure.  My Mommy gave it to me <3

At the time of this revamp I couldn't afford awesome new lampshades, so I made do with what came with them.  They were super ugly old school shades in a beige color, totally blech.
So I tore the yucky fabric off of them and spray painted the inside with the silver spray paint and lined the outside with some more of the old chenille blanket I used for the headboard.  I bound it all with some bias I had on a spool from my Grandmother that was gray and white striped, then I found some gorgeous velvet ribbon in coral to place around that (also from my Grandmother's stash she bequeathed to me)

"Love will save the day"
So True

The Bedside Tables

Last but not least are these side tables.
I think that these turned out fantastic!  They were uber fun to transform too!
The Silver really accentuates the lines on the piece and makes it really shimmer!

Here's the whole package together
(my side of the bed)

I got this jar on my husband's side from the same yard sale for $3!  this one is really awesome too and has so much character!  I have never seen a mason jar like it before.

I have bought the silver leaf to finish all the silver painted pieces and maybe sometime (eventually) I will have time to get busy working on it.  But until this semester is over that's a no go!
They look great for now though!

I so enjoyed this whole project and I really loved outlining it for y'all and I look forward to any questions and comments you might have!

Fun, fun! I've been redorating our entire master bedroom with craigslist furniture that I'm painting piece by piece (except the bed which was perfect just as we found it). Love the blue jars. I had several of these passed down from my Mom, sitting in the cabinet, thanks to all the blogs I've seen them on I pulled them out and starting using them again.
